Leupold Riflescope VX-3HD 2.5-8X36 CDS-ZL Duplex Matte

Description

The Leupold VX-3HD 2.5-8X36 is a 2.5-8×36 mm riflescope from Leupold. It is a practical choice for general hunting at short to medium range.

Why choose the Leupold VX-3HD 2.5-8X36

With 2.5-8×36 mm optics, this scope covers general hunting at short to medium range. Because the reticle sits in the second focal plane, it stays bold and easy to see, even at low power. It gives you a reliable sight picture without a lot of extra weight.

Key features

• 2.5-8x variable magnification. You can scan wide at 2.5x and zoom to 8x for careful shot placement.
• 36 mm objective lens. It strikes a good balance between brightness, size and weight.
• Second focal plane reticle. It stays the same size and easy to see at every power setting.
• Second Focal Plane reticle for clear, precise aiming.
• Zero stop or zero reset (Set Screw) so you can return to zero quickly.

How to choose a riflescope

When you compare riflescopes, start with magnification. Lower power gives a wider view and faster target pick-up. Higher power helps at long range. Next, look at the objective lens. A bigger lens gathers more light, but it also adds weight and needs taller rings. Also check the focal plane. A first focal plane reticle keeps holdovers accurate at every power, while a second focal plane reticle stays the same size.

Finally, make sure the turrets and reticle use the same unit, either MOA or MRAD. That makes corrections quick and simple. Mount the scope in quality rings, set the eye relief before you tighten the screws, and then zero it at the distance you shoot most.
