Long range scopes are built for precision. They offer high magnification, turrets that track well and side focus to remove parallax. They also use reticles made for holdover and ranging, so they suit PRS matches, target shooting and long range hunting.
Our range includes the Leupold Mark 5HD, the Athlon Argos, Ares and Cronus, the Sig Sauer Tango and the Vortex Viper PST and Razor. In addition, you will find the Steiner M-Series and budget-friendly Arken EP5 and SH4 scopes.
What to look for in long range scopes
FFP reticle: the holdover marks stay correct at every magnification.
MIL or MOA: choose turrets and reticle in the same unit.
Zero stop: lets you return to zero quickly after you dial.
Large tube: 34mm and 35mm tubes give more elevation for very long shots.
Choosing magnification
A 5-25x or 6-24x scope is a strong all-round choice. It is low enough to find targets, yet high enough to see small plates far away. However, benchrest and F-Class shooters often want 7-35x or more, because they need to see bullet holes at long range.
Also think about weight. High zoom scopes with big lenses are heavy, so they suit a bench rifle better than a mountain rifle.
MIL or MOA?
Both systems work well. MIL is the most common choice in precision shooting, so it makes it easy to share data with other shooters. On the other hand, many hunters already think in MOA. Either way, the key is to match the reticle and turrets.
