LPVO scopes (low power variable optics) work like a red dot at 1x. So you can shoot fast with both eyes open. Then you can zoom to 6x, 8x or 10x for precise shots at longer range. That makes them very popular for AR-15s, carbines, 3-gun and hunting in mixed terrain.
We carry models from Sig Sauer, Athlon, Eotech Vudu, Vortex, Steiner, Leupold, Meopta, Swampfox and Riton. So you can find an option for every budget, from entry-level to duty grade.
Choosing LPVO scopes
1-4x or 1-6x: lighter and faster, ideal for close to medium range.
1-8x or 1-10x: more reach for longer shots, but a little heavier.
Bright illumination: a daylight-bright dot gives true red dot speed at 1x.
Throw lever: helps you change zoom quickly.
FFP or SFP in LPVO scopes?
An FFP reticle keeps holdover marks correct at every setting. As a result, it suits shooters who use the reticle at longer range. However, at 1x the FFP reticle is small, so it relies on bright illumination.
By contrast, an SFP reticle stays the same size. Because of this, it looks bold and fast at 1x. Many hunters and new shooters therefore prefer SFP.
Mounting tips
Use a quality one-piece mount to keep your zero. Also check the eye relief, because LPVOs have a smaller eye box than red dots. In addition, set the scope height so your head sits naturally on the stock.
