How to choose a red dot sight
When you choose a red dot, think about dot size and battery life. A small dot is more precise at distance, while a larger dot is faster up close. Also check how the sight mounts to your rifle or pistol.
Before you shoot, zero the dot at your usual distance and check that the brightness suits the light. Keep a spare battery in your kit, and clean the lens with a soft cloth.
Care and setup tips
Good care keeps any optic working well for years. First, keep the lens caps on when you are not using it. Next, blow or brush dust off the glass before you wipe it, and then use a proper lens cloth. Store the optic somewhere dry, and let it reach room temperature before you open the case after a cold day outside. Finally, check that all mounting screws are tight before each trip.
