Athlon Ares ETR GEN2 UHD 1-10×24 ATMR3 FFP IR MIL Reticle

Description

The Athlon Ares ETR GEN2 UHD 1-10×24 is a 1-10×24 mm riflescope from Athlon. Shooters choose it for general hunting at short to medium range.

Why choose the Athlon Ares ETR GEN2 UHD 1-10×24

With 1-10×24 mm optics, this scope covers general hunting at short to medium range. Because the reticle sits in the first focal plane, your holdovers work at any zoom setting. As a low-power variable optic, it works almost like a red dot at 1x and still gives you magnification for longer shots. It offers a solid set of features for the price.

Key features

• 1-10x variable magnification. You can scan wide at 1x and zoom to 10x for careful shot placement.
• 24 mm objective lens. The compact lens keeps the optic light and low on the rifle.
• First focal plane reticle, so holdover marks stay accurate at every magnification.
• MRAD turret adjustments that match the reticle, so corrections are easy to dial.

How to choose a riflescope

When you compare riflescopes, start with magnification. Lower power gives a wider view and faster target pick-up. Higher power helps at long range. Next, look at the objective lens. A bigger lens gathers more light, but it also adds weight and needs taller rings. Also check the focal plane. A first focal plane reticle keeps holdovers accurate at every power, while a second focal plane reticle stays the same size.

Finally, make sure the turrets and reticle use the same unit, either MOA or MRAD. That makes corrections quick and simple. Mount the scope in quality rings, set the eye relief before you tighten the screws, and then zero it at the distance you shoot most.
